There are 36 artists, musicians and dancers in Cirque Mother Africa. Amongst them, there is Mwangi Lazaraus Gitu from Kenya, he is the most flexible man in the world, ther Brothers Ramadhani with their powerful and aesthetic hand-hand act. Mr. Gitu had some shows in China, where the fastidious audience loved him so much that he attracted 75 millions of spectators while performing on TV. He has attained cult status there.

They have approximately peformed 800 shows world wide to 900,000 spectators worldwide. They were the highlight show at “German Media Award 2010′ to Richard Branson in Baden – Baden, Germany.

Tiger Beer ushered in the coming Chinese New Year by taking its celebrations to a higher level by hosting the Tiger Lunar Extravaganza yesterday at the Singapore Flyer. Also known as “Singapore’s Wheel of Fortune”, the Singapore Flyer is the world’s largest observation wheel. Attended by more than 300 invited guests, the Tiger Lunar Extravaganza embodied the concept of “beer”, “friends” and “fortune” as well as the spirit of 聚(togetherness) through the evening’s proceedings.

The festivities kicked off with guests participating in a traditional and symbolic “Lou Hei” (or prosperity toss) while riding in the Singapore Flyer. At the apex, 165 metres above sea-level, they tossed “yu-sheng”, a mixture of raw fish and shredded vegetable and toasted to good fortune with Tiger Beer.

Following the “Lou Hei” in the Singapore Flyer, guests in attendance took the chance to improve their “feng shui” with meaningful rituals to enhance their relationships with friends and family in the year of the Water Dragon, tying back to the theme of “togetherness”. The rituals were conceptualised by Tiger Beer in collaboration with geomancer Grand Master Phang of New Trend Lifestyle.

One such ritual involved the casting of Mandarin oranges into a “Tiger Beer Five Fortune Pagoda” made up of Tiger Beer cans stacked to signify 五福临门 (Wu Fu Lin Men) or “Five Fortunes at the Door”. The five fortunes comprise longevity, wealth, health, kindness and benevolence. The “Tiger Beer Five Fortune Pagoda” can be replicated at home by Singaporeans with a 24-can pack of Tiger Beer to wish for the five types of fortune and good luck.

Another ritual introduced at the event was the specially-created “Tiger Beer Dragon Wall” which involved guests slotting cans of Tiger Beer into a constructed wall to form the shape of a Water Dragon. It symbolised “the attraction of wealth from all directions by the Dragon on the Great Wall”.

Guests were then treated to a sumptuous six-course dinner and festive entertainment at Seafood Paradise restaurant, overlooking the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay.

More than two hundred elderly persons living in the Kreta Ayer constituency were treated to an evening of food, fun and festivity as part of the celebrations to usher in the upcoming Year of the Water Dragon yesterday. Hosted by Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) at Kreta Ayer Square in Chinatown, an intimate charity dinner was held to enhance the spirit of “togetherness” amongst the elderly community.

Amongst the guests for the evening was Wu Chew Lian, aged 83, who said, “I have been coming to this dinner for a few years now. I really look forward to having this meal annually and celebrating Chinese New Year here in the heart of Chinatown with my friends and neighbours. This event is especially meaningful for me as I no longer have relatives to celebrate with anymore.”

APBS staff was on the ground as hosts to the elderly guests, providing the personal touch to serve them a sumptuous spread and provide an evening to remember. Mr Michael Chin, General Manager, APBS, along with Dr Lily Neo, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC and Adviser to Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng GROs ended the evening of festivities by personally handing out red packets (ang baos) to each of the elderly folk in attendance at the event.

Said Mr Chin, “Organising this Chinese New Year charity dinner has become a tradition for APB Singapore and it gives us the opportunity to give back to the community each year. This year’s dinner event is significant as it marks the tenth year that we have hosted it for the elderly living in Kreta Ayer and we will work towards supporting the community them in the years ahead.”

It is indeed a very good experience to do volunteer and on ground support in serving the beer at the bar. it is my first time to be a bartender and help out in a good cause with the old folk. It is very fun and rewarding experience.

Despite of the rain and weather condition. Everyone is happy. Things went out well and i would definately love to do volunteer work again.
